The pommel is the secondary type that we sometimes see on Eickhorn pieces, being the same as that shown on page 1of my Luftwaffe Book. The pommel has crisp swastikas on both sides and good surrounding oak leaves. There is excellent rendering to these leaves.

A gold leaf is placed to the left and the right of the motto. The blade is also adorned with a damascus pattern. This dagger was produced exclusively by the Carl Eickhorn company. The lower crossguard eagle is an elegant example of the craftsmanship that Eickhorn put into the design of its Government official daggers.

This blade is in mint condition with the Eickhorn squirrel on the reverse below the lower crossguard. The scabbard displays a high degree of its original. The guards are brightly nickel plate with 1 of the original plating. The tang nut does not look to have ever been off the dagger.

The grip is an RZM type with a high center ridge. This outstanding grouping of two Imperial Naval edged weapons both belonged to the same officer and are engraved with his surname. The two edged weapons were acquired directly from a Florida family where they were passed down from the grandfather.
